Gee whiz our bowlers served up more pies than the Balfours factory in the last 45 minutes tonight.

Not happy about the last 30 mins, when the field is spread like that bowlers don't know where to bowl.

Catches off mis-hits often land near where fielders normally stand.

I suspect that this is a flat wicket, but outside of Starc our attack looked ordinary and all of the last 30 mins was ordinary.

I would always have a slip and a gully, regular wid-wicket and a cover field.

4 + the keeper and bowler in close 5 guys out. Sure you might leak a few runs but 3-4 hits from Archer landed where guys would have caught them, and a nick to slips is always possible.

We might have handed England some momentum.

He has done well.

However, apart from a few Green balls, the rest of the attack has looked mediocre on this pitch.

Have to pay homage to some superb batting from the Poms.

Root - class act.

Crawley - excellent strike rate.

Brook - scores runs so quickly, against attacking red ball fields.

All succeeded in Aus.

Huge drop in standard with Cummins and H injured, down to Doggett, Neser and Boland. The former 2 have bowled very well in the Shield against Tas over many seasons too. Apart from Richardson, there isn’t much potential for much better in Aus ATM.
