Summer of Cricket thread

Sam Konstas is opening again in an international match so more scrutiny on a guy that needs to have less pressure on him. Should have been left in shield as he battles with his mind and form.

yeah please feel free to post on the soccer thread, the person who was being snobbish got pretty universally told off
To be honest Jon and grazor I dont have sufficient knowledge to carry a soccer debate so prefer to post my one liners here where I know you two and LFC. You guys dont mind that do you.

Oh it should be a place u dont need knowledge as long as everyone is respectful! But no worries posting here

Some former players calling for CA to either allow him to retire or force it on him before or at Ashes end to start a much needed generational transition which CA should have done 12 mths ago with him and Starc. But now it looks as tho all our ageing greats will leave in a clump. This is not ideal.
I would allow him to play the Sydney test as a retirement send off, especially if we are 3-0 up in the series.

1-1 or even 2-1 in the series, i am picking the best 11.

He normally plays well in Sydney.

Lyon and Hazelwood are perhaps the bowlers closest to retirement.

Agree with every word, Baggers.

I just can't believe the selectors haven't been more proactive? We need to blood more players in their 20s.

You are just like a mate of mine, H. Sentimental about fairytale retirements. Sport doesn't work like that!

I think Warner should have been tapped on the shoulder much earlier. Usman is old and hasn't scored many recent runs.

Lyon is still bowling well enough, but Kuhnemnn took more wickets in SL and is only 27.

That shouldn't preclude you from advancing an opinion on a football forum, mate.

You probably know more about cricket on here than anybody else, having been a cricket coach, but you still treat posters who have far less knowledge with respect and welcome their contribution.

You keep saying that DC, he is 29 and not a world beater at home, whereas Corey R is. His top spin from a hi release point would also be very handy on sub continent pitches. And he is 27, has more fire in the belly and a better bat.

Grateful. Still please respect my decision to post here.

Tell me why when Tillies thrashed the Ferns 5 zip first game we only managed two goals in the second. WE take foot off the throat or fielded a different side. And when is Mary Fowler returning.

Jeez guys what a glut of cricket at present. Ashes Test today, Aussie A v England Lions, a Shield round and a 2nd X1 round, to round out things the U19 Nationals also.

Bummer because it being a day/niter the 2nd Test starts at 3pm, so a long wait.

Last year Kuhnemann had most Shield wickets in front of Swepson, Corey R and Murphy, Richie.

That was just before they selected the SL squad. That was also bowling on the unresponsive Bellerive. Although it did spin a bit a few times last season.

Well his selection must have caused a drop in form (nerves?) as Corey R swamped him after that. Was this his way of telling the selectors you picked the wrong man.
