Summer of Cricket thread

Looking at the video ( was amazed it was sunny as there was hail and gusty wind), Kingsell looks very good.

Elliot was bowling with most of the really strong wide behind him. N-S was bowling into it. It was freezing too - 13-14 degrees. No wonder N-S didn't look interested! I should have rugged up and watched it.

DC I think you mean Liam Doddrell. Yes a skiddy bowler, only the one wk for the match tho, Mac Wright.
Liam Doddrell may currently have longer hair than his photos show ATM.

He was pounding it into the turf and getting good lift. If it was him bowling, apart from Tremain earlier on, the guy I saw bowling was the most impressive NSW pace bowler despite only taking 1 pole.

Billy Stanlake should have been more potent for Tas. Previously, he was one of the quickest bowlers in the country.

Kingsell wants to finish this quickly. Just pulled Neil-Smith over the mid wicket fence then next ball punched a powerful cover drive for four. He has all the shots, has a compact technique, solid defense, plays the ball late and doesnt seem flustered. This kid excites me. Blues selectors need to fast track him into the side, if not this yr definitely next.
Not sure how old RK is?

He is a right handed opener too.

Just turned 20 is my guessimate as his record was achieved in March this yr.

I hope he is not turned into a specialist opener, which like many before him could destroy an international career before it starts.

What do Joel Davies and Tom Brooks bowl - spin or pace?
Both spin. Davies left arm finger, Brooks leg wrist. Knew nothing about him so did some digging. 25 played a season in Victoria with the aim of making it to shield. He must have been bowling well in Sydney Premier to get this gig. Then takes a 6for this week. Needs to work on his fitness and he is a chance for the Blues.

There was one bowler not listed in the scorecard, so perhaps him but who knows as I have no way of finding out as this individual wants to remain nameless.

Injuries, yet he has never changed his action with that spring before delivery. He is still pretty quick, tho not express.

Had a few chats to Brooks on the boundary too. He mainly fielded at second slip.

We really appreciated more top quality red ball cricket to watch. So any good fielding or batting by NSW was appreciated, by us clapping.

If anyone falters in the Blues Shield eleven, there is plenty of depth in the second eleven to replace them. It is probably difficult to manage so many talented players in NSW.

I’m pretty appalled last year by Cricket Aus issuing an edict that Adam Zampa play for NSW in the Shield. He lives in Byron Bay, doesn’t train with the NSW Shield team and doesn’t play Sydney grade cricket!

Problem is our coach waits too long to move on the falterers, yet fails to give some players ample time to cement a spot. Does not make sense and infuriates me.

#6 depends on whether Lyon plays.

The PM X1 match this arvo in Canberra was designed to give the England X1 a warm up game for the Brisbane day/niter. The same X1 smashed by us last week chose instead to take a break and play beach cricket up in Noosa. A touch ungratetful and rather silly by the Pommies.
