Nope. Still around?
Brantz was Simon Hill’s better half for a while around 15 years ago.

Basically the order for female ⚽️ presenters@ SBS for the past quarter-century goes like this:

Tracey Holmes 1997/98-2000
Mieke Buchan 2001-2003
Stephanie Brantz 2004-2005/6
Mariana Rudan 2008-2014/15
Lucy Zelic 2013-2019/20
Hannah Hollis 2014

I mostly knew of Lucy Zelic. She was quite passionate and had a youtube channel for a while where she did some pretty deep current affairs in the game. Seems to have left the game for politics like foster

Hill and Brantz separated? I read his biography but don't entirely recall if they married. Given the years he was prominent she never got mentioned so I assume they parted ways.

Pretty self-evident I’d have thought.

RWNJ politics, alas. Way to not dispel the stereotype about Cros’ leanings in that regard😉

after living in Japan I've become a lot more relaxed about people who disagree with me politically. It's hard to explain, but there is something about seeing protests outside that you have no what they are about that makes me wonder about the modern approach of being really judgy about people who disagree. I remember a quote in the usa which really motivated me to talk politics all the time. It said "it's a privilege to be able to check out of politics but for a marginalized person your very life is political so you don't get a choice". I don't know if you have heard that argument before. But then I later thought "hang on, I don't know of a western country that talks politics more than the usa and I don't know a country where the marginalized are worse off".

Fun fact. When my wife and I were in Russia for the 2018 WC we were in a lift and the doors opened on an intermediate floor and who walks in but Stephanie Brantz visiting with Simon whilst he was on duty for SBS.

You certainly get around. What is/are your job(s) that you do so?

Russian ROOTlett?

not sure what this post means. What is the "height of the defensive line"

My guess is he is meaning the height of the pitch re the defensive line - high up the pitch.

Appears no one stepping up (height) so perhaps he's referring to that. I mean that is on the presumption that they're playng an offside trap.

its harder to do an offside trap with a back 5 than a back four, an extra person to spoil things!

Be interesting to see what keeper starts.

If it’s Izzo you’d guess Ryan is done.

Beach had a great game, and tbh I knew little about him. After the game the other night I’d be happy for him or Izzo

Ryan's playing in la liga. Besides it being a better quality than danish superligen, if Izzo does start it won't mean that much. Ryan is getting way better matchtime over in Spain than he would be getting in the US, no need to rock the boat with his club, if you can blood the next gen in the friendly.

Ditto on all of this. I use to live in Yokohama.

Ryan's playing reasonably well as well. There is obviously incumbent fatigue with Ryan, and the club choices where he didn't play in the past, but it would be strange to me if he isn't selected. La Liga is just a much higher standard than what Izzo is playing.
