2026 UEFA WC Qualification

Faroe Islands beat Czechia

Wow!

I will update my qualification permutations following the end of the window - but essentially means Croatia need just a draw from either of their final games in November (Montenegro and Faroe Islands) to seal qualification.

Might use this as my central post and update/edit as things change.

So far, 4 groups in UEFA have completed the October matchdays, so I can at least give the final permutations for these ones (and funnily enough, neither group are the ones I flagged earlier)

EDIT: Updated in a separate post below

I've been taking the piss out of Mrs EZ, her family and her relatives for a long time due to Italy's non participation in the past two world cups. However it seems they may actually qualify this time.

Some football data page post.

If 🇧🇦 BiH do not beat 🇷🇴 Romania, it will be in 🇸🇲 San Marino's best interest to LOSE to 🇷🇴 Romania last matchday by AS MANY GOALS AS POSSIBLE to maximize their chances of reaching WC playoffs via UNL.

That would be amazing shit-housery - I just had a look at the feasibility of it, and it does check out.

Essentially, of the UNL group winners, the following are currently not in the top 2 of their group:
  1. Wales
  2. Romania
  3. Sweden
  4. Moldova
  5. San Marino
If all groups remain the way they are at the moment, and the above scenario happens, then yes - San Marino will be in a play off spot for the World Cup

Wales score early against Belgium. Belgium have to go to Kazakhstan then host Liechtenstein so 3 points absolutely guaranteed and likely 6.

Wow Greece have actually been eliminated. Credit to Scotland for getting a job done.

Kazakhstan lead in North Macedonia. Kosovo lead Sweden.

Belgium now 2:1 up in Wales. Iceland led France but on 63 it's 1:1.

Sweden are absolutely cooked. 1:0 loss to Kosovo and dead last.

Big teams ended up winning in the end tonight except for France with a 2:2 draw in Iceland.

Wales lost their World Cup qualifying group J match to Belgium 4-2 with Kevin De Bruyne scoring a brace of penalties. Liechtenstein lost 2-1 to Montenegro and are now winless after six matchdays, whilst North Macedonia drew 1-1 with Kazakhstan in the other group J fixtures.

How does Sweden have a front 2 of Isak and Gyokeres and only have 1 point? Thier coach must be getting potted soon.
They probably got to a stage where they thought "oh, well - we aren't going to get top of the group, and we're going to be in the playoffs anyways - let's phone it in"

UEFA (only groups that can have a guaranteed qualification this week)
  1. Group B
    1. Switzerland can qualify with a victory over Slovenia AND Kosovo failing to defeat Sweden
  2. Group D
    1. France can qualify with a victory over Iceland AND Ukraine failing to defeat Azerbaijan
  3. Group F
    1. Portugal can qualify with a victory over Hungary AND Armenia failing to defeat Republic of Ireland
  4. Group K
    1. England can qualify with a victory over Latvia
Actually, in doing the maths, Norway can qualify overnight too: IF Italy fail to defeat Moldova AND Norway defeats Estonia

England 5-0 up against Latvia going into second half stoppage time and more or less guaranteed qualification for the 2026 World Cup as it stands.
