General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

Not sure if ive missed something but the free to air television games are yet to be announced on the fixture.

Might be something in that.

I’m no Al watching devotee but come on Graz only equal to above avg Al player.
For one that bar isn’t that high.
2 he may not run as much but his ball skill was quite a bit above average Al player and his distribution pretty good and cross’s into the zone near on any match I watched.
When they were playing catch up in games he was their main go to to make things happen the way I saw it.
I’d pay to watch him compared to a above average Al player.

I suspect that's mostly reputation, I don't think he stood out to be honest. He has declined a lot

Wellington have the worse squad so far, i hate to say it but it def looks like we r spoon bound. Our Nigerian striker is a donkey and our other import wont be match fit until the 4th round or so. I was hoping we could pick up some WU players but the club is staunch on bring in youth from its Acadamy then else where.

Jake girdwood reich on season long loan to auckland

Shame we cant get bovalina

He declined pretty far and probably was no better than an above average a league player last year. Not sure if he made a difference in the crowds
Absolutely disagree. The difference between when he was in the squad & when he wasn't was night and day. His positioning, vision, the ability to split defences and his passing in general were way ahead of anyone in the Sydney FC. He was however playing in Talays stupid systems. I think he just found a pretext to not come back to it.

I mean Im glad other people liked him, just personally dont think sydney got that much out of him

But they did - without him they would have been bottom 4 at least.
Not sure what your seeing but polar opposite what I saw and I think EZ backs my pov.
counterfactuals are hard, maybe they are bottom 4 maybe they do no different

I think people get biased by his reputation and history tbh. If you put a fake moustache and different name on his back last year, people would call him decent, but nothing more

He was above average in the A league. Talay had no idea how to play him, otherwise he would have been the best player in the league.

just realized he only started 10 a league games!

Ok maybe I take that back, we don't know what he'd do with a consistent run of games
