General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

Sena was released from the final year of his contract last week. He was a diving little bastard, anyway.
He was composed on the ball and had precise passing range. He may have went down a bit however reading between the lines this seems like an attitude thing internally within the team towards him.

A-League Men and A-League Women fixtures for round 1 of season 2025-26 have been released and subsequently leaked from the app. Adelaide United v Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar v Macarthur the two games on A-League Men's opening day on October 17th. Opening day for the A-League Women sees Western Sydney Wanderers host Perth Glory on October 31st, with Wellington Phoenix getting the bye for matchday 1.

I simply cannot understand how poorly managed Perry Park has been by the QLD government.
Agreed, Perry Park is not fit for purpose and has been deemed unsatisfactory for A-League Women's games. Brisbane Roar women deserve better and it's great to see them finally move away going into season 2025-26.

9pm start

Ouch, i imagibe attendance would drop at that time?

Couple of observations.

- The Friday double headers aren’t every week. Maybe about every third week? That’s disappointing. If we get to 14 teams next season, I hope it’s every week.

- There are 3 ALM games on the day of the women’s Asian cup final. Its frustrating for me as I will have to sacrifice a Victory home game if I wanna head up to Sydney… I dunno, I just think it should just be a stand-alone game.

- As for Victory, we have 3 Friday night home games, 2 on Sunday and 2 on Monday. I’m not massively thrilled with this. More Fridays please. Wellington on a Monday after Xmas (Work Day) is very strange.

- Our triple ups are Sydney (2 away), City (2 away), Wellington (2 home) and Adelaide (2 home). But Before Auckland came in, we used to play Adelaide away twice. Vuck fans who regularly travel will be disappointed we didn’t get that second trip to Adelaide.

- 4 out of our first 6 games are away. Sydney, Brisbane and McArthur away in consecutive weeks. I think there is some stadium availability issues around that time, but still… no team should be playing away on 3 consecutive weeks.
