From the NPL New South Wales to the AFC Champions League 2

In a surprise move, Japanese import Yu Okubo has signed with an unnamed club in the 2025/26 Asian Champions League 2 and will leave his NWS Spirit FC side with immediate effect

The 28-year-old forward has had a fantastic spell in Australia scoring goals for both Hills United and Spirit FC and he took his game to another level this year scoring 18 goals in the NPL NSW Men's competition and lifting the premiership in Spirit colours.

In addition, Spirit FC will benefit from Okubo's departure from a financial perspective as the NPL NSW outfit have accepted an undisclosed transfer fee.
