Yep, I was hopeful of a positive result when Bartlett got that early wicket but it went downhill from there.
They wont use their bloody feet, like they are stuck in concrete. Even our best spin player Philippe was unable to get into stride.

What the hell was the reason for dumping our academy and with it spin friendly practice decks made specially for Asian tours. CA has a lot to answer for. Is only interested in its white ball cash cow, T20.

Watching second women Tas v WA one day game.

Tas all out for 270 odd. Trenaman made a big 100 NO.

WA 1-150 in reply. They’ve had a bit of luck, but another good opening partnership between Darke and Pipito.

It probably had a lot to do with money.

Plus CA got so traumatised after we lost the 2005 Ashes that they've spent the last 21 years trying to find Australia's answer to Freddie Flintoff.

As much as I hate to admit it we're never going to find anyone like that.

DC you have met and chatted with Riley Kingsell, whereas I am yet too. Well you may not know it but he is a current Blues rookie and with Daniel Hughes prob retiring he may be promoted to a full contract for the remaining four matches or at the very least be debuted as a rookie. Blues bosses are now using a youth focused policy after years of neglecting the best young players. Bout bloody time too.

In Tests he averaged 31 with bat and 32 with ball. Green will eat him and his stats for breakfast by his career end.

Did you know Freddie had a lazy reputation early in his career and looked to have missed the international boat. That was until a former player, think it was, took him aside and said in as many words, ''if you wanna play for England you need to pull out your finger quick smart". 2005 was his ultimate reply. He had thrown away laziness and replaced it with a killer instinct.

Freddie had a soft side to his nature as well. There the warrior was delirious in victory but he still found a moment to drop on his haunches to console another warrior Brett Lee. Freddie earned a lot of respect and admiration by that gesture.

Cricket NSW are giving Sydney Sixers and New South Wales men's head coach Greg Shipperd the sack, announcing that he'll part ways with the organisation at the conclusion of season 2025-26. He'll oversee the remainder of the Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup campaign, and it's not clear if there will be a sole replacement taking on both roles or whether there'll be separate head coaches.

Noting our best player of spin Philippe did not play? Selectors need to get serious and do their homework by picking all avail competent spin players (horses for courses) for India WC or we are gonna be walloped. Philippe, Smith, Handscomb, Jason Sangha definite starters if I was a selector. Chaudhary's Indian background would be handy too. Wake up Bailey and co as guys who murder attacks on our home tracks are made to look like school kids on spin friendly sub cont ones as they play spin like they have cement feet.

Bailey and co did not wake up. We are gonna be hammered with that heavy footed batting group on their pitches. Nathan Ellis is in thankfully.

  • Australia's 15-man squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup
  • Mitchell Marsh
  • Xavier Bartlett
  • Cooper Connolly
  • Ben Dwarshuis
  • Tim David
  • Nathan Ellis
  • Josh Hazlewood
  • Cameron Green
  • Travis Head
  • Josh Inglis
  • Matthew Kuhnemann
  • Glenn Maxwell
  • Matthew Renshaw
  • Marcus Stoinis
  • Adam Zampa
Surely this will be the last hurrah in world cups for Maxwell and Stoinis, prob Marsh too. Connolly has done very little to earn a place.

I am for two reasons, our great international record
Well grazor I may have to change my mind as reckon our great record is coming to an end this yr, given the batters we have picked for what will be challenging spinning wickets. Australia is habitually inept against the turning ball bar a handful of guys other than Smith, one is Jason Sangha and he also was omitted from this WC squad.

He is also one of the head honchos at the Blues Academy. No great loss as he did zilch to promote young talent during a majority of his 11 yr tenure. A prime example is Raf MacMillan who was never given a deserved rookie contract that then offered him to Tassie cricket on a platter...

You dont agree @rebelliousfeminist974 . There were also two occasions where rookies sat on the bench for three long yrs then discarded without the courtesy of a single first class match from Shipperd. From memory one was pace bowler Hunar Verma. Must've been gut wrenching for them.

Only with RK on the boundary with him operating the sight screen. I asked him about batting on the Kangaroo Bay pitch?

RK is an impressive batter!

Raf MacMillan bowled well for the Tas second eleven. Kuhnemann is ahead of him for the Tas first 11.

Return of Shield today. Bout bloody time too. I know I winge about this every year, but cutting crickets best first class domestic comp in half was just plain dumb. And we all know why.

WA Squad: Sam Whiteman (c), Cameron Bancroft, Hilton Cartwright, Brodie Couch, Joel Curtis, Sam Fanning, Cameron Gannon, Jayden Goodwin, Aaron Hardie, Liam Haskett, Jhye Richardson, Corey Rocchiccioli, Teague Wyllie

Tasmania squad: Jordan Silk (c), Gabe Bell, Jackson Bird, Nikhil Chaudhary, Jake Doran, Caleb Jewell, Raf MacMillan, Aidan O’Connor, Billy Stanlake, Charlie Wakim, Tim Ward, Jake Weatherald, Beau Webster

Still no Neil-Smith after his excellent Seconds bowling, tho pleased to see TCA already rates young Raf Mac as the second best spinner in the state. Jeez they have also recalled the hot/cold veteran Charlie Wakim. Youth policy selectors.

Blues showing rubbish batting at an empty SCG. Konstas top score, plenty of starts but no one going on. Story of their past two seasons. And minus Chris Tremain in the attack and on recent showings, they will struggle to bowl out the SACAs cheaply.
