Its a bit of a stretch to claim the definition is either "mentally ill" OR "perfectly biological normal" though mate.... I am trying to say there is no 'coming together' over certain issues between the 'left' vs the 'right'.

If someone says trans people are mentally ill or homosexuals should be stoned to death and I don't there are or should be, there is no possible common ground between those 2 diametrically opposed viewpoints and it's naive to ask 'why can't we all just get along'.

The same way I might be pro-abortion and someone is anti-abortion. There's no middle ground to meet on. Zero.

Mate I am NOT saying anyone is mentally ill... I am perfectly aware that someone just doesnt become enamoured with the desire to change their sexual parts, or their sexual orientation for that matter, overnight ... although a massive disclaimer in saying that I DO feel that a fairly large chunk of people ARE swayed by their environment and society/upbringing.. T

hats NOT the point though.. There are many psychological/mental conditions which cause people to behave in ways society doesn't deem "normal" ... Doesn't mean that any right minded person would wish harm or damage to these people... The God I was taught to believe in preaches love to the weakest and most vulnerable of his children, NOT to castrate them or slaughter them... I see what you are saying. Someone can choose to have sex with a trans person over male or female. In that case it is a preference. My point is more specifically to the general idea that trans people (in majority of cases) don't have a choice in being trans. This guy may have chosen to have sex with a trans person, but that does not make him trans.

It was a riff on the theme of "queers for Palestine" i.e a socio/political movement of one specific subset of people who define themselves by their sexuality yet I presume it would be dismissed if another group of people with a different sexuality were to try and do the same thing....

I agree, Some people have as much choice in being trans as other have in not liking to eat Avocado or hating the colour orange or whatever... Its just another quirk of nature that makes us all different but the same. All I was saying is that in THAT capacity it is a psychological choice not something like a physical difference....
