Weatherald plays on trying to remove his bat. Unlucky, still unless mistaken, he has yet to score a half century since his elevation to Test cricket. What does that tell you DC?

Jewell goes for 41 off 48 balls. He isn’t capitalizing on his good form.

Tas 2-84.

116 runs in front.

Scott and Doggett bowled more good length balls onto Jewell’s leg stump - which he did not like as much.

Jewel nicks behind. Not sure that hit bat but as no referrals it matters not. Having said that, Jewel played and missed a fair bit. I rated Weatherald the better of the two.

Baffled why Hope is still being picked, promises plenty with bat and ball but only occasionally delivers. Surely there are more consistent all rounders in Premier League.

Weatherald and Jewell have gone cheaply on a green pitch at Bellerive. I am concerned Weatherald does not have the temperament for Test cricket, as since his big '24/25 he can barely buy a run. Doubt he even has a 50 in any format.
Weatherald made scores of 67, 57 and 94 in his first two Shield games of the season Rich!! Yes he hasn't made much since but a far cry from not making a 50 since 24/25. He also made 183 for Aus A against Sri Lanka A in July.

Has to be mentioned that he has scored 1,391 runs at an average of 53.5 since the start of that 24/25 season...some pretty solid numbers.

Everyone in Crick Tas Members agrees with you, Richie!

Jewell out - batted him today, ODW.

I think Jewell has been best in match so far - but as usual, when in form, gets himself out.

Croweaters subdued as he and Weatherald took game away from SA.

Then SA appealed loudly for everything - trying to intimidate ump!

Doggett has bowled well, as has all rounder Scott with 5 poles already in the game. Scott only scored 1 in first innings though.

Carey batted very well for SA. He kept well too.

McAndrew hammered for 46 runs off 6 overs by Jewell and Weatherald. Just about top bowler in Shield for last few seasons.

Some good cricket, but freezing weather!

Some great banter between Test teammates Webster for Tas, and Head and Carey for SA. They bat next to each other too and love being batting partners for Aus. Bowlers have to bowl completely different line and length to shorter lefties, Head and Carey, and the giant Webster. It puts them off and the batters capitalize.

Interesting?

I was often confused who was who?
