Summer of Cricket thread

South Aus 3-65 when I left the ground.

A lot of banter between Aus teammates, Head and Webster, who've shared quite a few key partnerships. Webster got his wicket. I thought Head looked dangerous, but former cricketers thought he looked out of sorts.

It looks like all current Test players/candidates are out of sorts! Although Carey kept well.

Doggett got 3 tailenders to boost his figures.

The pitch is still doing a bit.

The WA v Qld match starting a day behind the other two. Wonder why.

Green returns to the bowling crease and will be limited to 20 overs for the match as he is expected to be managed after his back surgery. So dont expect him to bowl any more than this in the Tests. Now he is back bowling bat him at #4 or even lower.

Lyon has first innings wickets so telling me SCG could be a spinners track. Certainly not a seaming track as JH has not taken a wicket.

Keep those reports from the other games coming, Baggers.

Carey 53 as bowlers feeding both lefties propensity to cut.

Bell 2 near wickets in successive balls. Told us he hates bowling to lefties.

Hunt caught
Losing his wicket after a break is something I am noticing that is creeping into Hunts game. At a peak batting age, appears he is losing his temperament too, not ideal for a Test opening batsman.

Blues struggling to get their innings started with a paltry 27 runs from 15 overs.

Hicks falls after lunch but Konstas remains after 2+ hrs so has he mentally overcome his recent nemesis, Scotty Boland. For Konstas it has to be back to basics as that is what earned him a Test debut.

Ryan Hicks could well be the best emerging keeper/batsman in the nation. Whereas most k/bs bat at #7 Hicks bats in the top six. Last week I watched him bat a #5 and he scored 50 , he scored a century too recently in Premier. Today he is inexplicably opening. For mine that is putting too much pressure on the kid when he is used to batting down the order. Blues selectors continue to confuse me...

Redbacks collapsing after lunch with Webster doing the damage. Tigers may even win a first inns lead.

I blame them for Hicks demise after lunch. Now Konstas is back in the shed, faced 59 balls for 12. These two faced 16 overs so did their job of softening the ball and removing the shine.
