Oh yeah it’s probably not enforced because it’s hard to do so, but it’s still technically a crime. Not many people would lie about it though, especially for a question like language spoken at home. The big one people lie about or don’t answer is religion, most famously there are people who mark Jediism as their religion.

Pretty cool that you worked on that though I must say! Are you able to tell us what the weirdest joke response was (e.g. born in Antarctica, Jediism, etc)?

When we do the data, we only work on specific questions - so I had only worked on: occupations (so I’d only see the answers to “what is your job title, what are your duties, etc), and Family Composition - so I’d just see names and relationship across the form
