The Matildas starting XI for game two against New Zealand in Adelaide, our last game for season 2025, has been named. Six changes to the side including Sam Kerr starting as captain, marking her return to play on home soil, and Teagan Micah starting between the sticks.
Isn't her old man the assistant coach?Has EvE got a video of Pepe doing ice or something? Great person, but not starting material anymore.
Gary van Egmond hasn't been part of the Matildas setup for a number of years now but it seems he still has quite a bit of influence over the side if Emily is still being selected.Isn't her old man the assistant coach?
Nah but he coached the Jets while she was loaned there for a couple games.Isn't her old man the assistant coach?
The New Zealand defensive line definitely looks more solid compared to last game especially given how they're stifling the Matildas early on, although they have made a number of changes including a starting debut between the sticks for Alina Santos.Nz seemed to have tightened up in defense a bit compared to last match
I was lecturing during the match though so missed a lot of it
Don't think there is VAR in this friendly unfortunately, which is the case for most women's international matches.VAR might clear that actually since rasos contact was partly caused by her getting a nudge in the back?
oh i was speaking hypotheticallyDon't think there is VAR in this friendly unfortunately, which is the case for most women's international matches.
Missed the goal because of how shit Paramount is. Was like five minutes behind because of the glitches that kept making it pause. Switching over to 10.great finish!
VAR would've been interesting mind you!
