Possibly, but personally I don’t mind where they play. If she holds a deep connection to her local area and club (perhaps her girlhood club) then she should be allowed to go and play for them. In an ideal world they should be fully professional athletes though.

That’s the problem everything is so disjointed that they never develop teamwork.
Imagine if you had teams playing together in properly organised competitions you would pick out the best players based on their ability in a team environment.

Agree that there needs to be proper pathways for future Matildas prospects and ideally full-time professionalism in the Dub but I don't mind players like Shelby McMahon and Leticia McKenna going to play for Gold Coast Knights and South Melbourne Hellas respectively for example in the offseason either especially if the connection is there.

You are talking about individual players joining teams at a lower level just so that you can stay fit regardless of the disruption that causes to the team environment.
When I watch Japanese teams play in tournaments at any level I see teamwork, when I watch Australian teams it is a disjointed mess. This is because they never develop that team mentality.

I think it depends. I’ve seen our young girls work together as a team well on many occasions, but I’ve also seen particularly our senior team not work well as a team. This is why I’d like to see starting 11s that are like 80% or rotated with rotated subs so we can see how well they go as a team.
