World cup 2026 Draw

Australia's group matches,
Sunday June 14th (Melbourne Time) vs Turkey/Slovakia/Kosovo/Romania at BC Place
Saturday June 20th (Melbourne Time) vs United States at Lumen Field (Seattle Stadium)
Friday June 26th (Melbourne Time) vs Paraguay at Levi's Stadium (San Francisco Bay Area Stadium)

As has been mentioned
Ifantino what a joke.
Followed by the long drawn out side show act.
That was cringe and typically Mercian Hollywood style bs.

More likely that they’ll be kept apart in their knockouts should they win the group
It’s actually the opposite (possibly not intentionally). The runners up in Mexico & Canada’s groups meet in the the round of 32 and if a third place from Group B advance they are 99.7% certain of facing the Group D winner… which could be USA v Canada potentially

Yes - when I looked into it, it was very much a “on paper, but not in practice” outcome. If they win their groups it works out, but as you said, If they don’t (likely for Canada), they’ll meet earlier

So it could be Mexico South Korea South Africa Denmark

Australia USA Paraguay Turkey

Canada Qatar Switzerland Italy

Netherlands Japan Tunisia Poland

France Senegal Norway Iraq

Portugal Uzbekistan Colombia DR Congo

It's worked out well us having the 4 recent friendlies against Americas teams given who we've got. I guess the 4th team in group will be an Eastern Europan team whoever it ends up being.

German pundits saying playing Curaçao is laughable. They need to pipe down after crumbling at the last two world cups. Curaçao are Dutch trained so they won't be pushovers.

Doable to reach R32 but we know USA are physical and fast and did win the friendly.Paraguay should not be underestimated-remember Venezuela who did not qualify did us recently.Turkiye and Romania will be very tough.Slovakia have produced some excellent teams in the past and Kosovo will be tenacious like all Balkan teams. It is the big stage and we will have players in the team who have been there before.

I am tempted to set up my 360 today and play through groups with older teams lol

For those of us actually going to the tournament, probably the worst draw possible.
In the USA's group means tickets will be super hard to get and expensive.
Only 71k capacity for the match against USA.
Only 54k capacity for the match in Canada.
The 3 cities, Vancouver, San Francisco and Seattle are not great.
San Francisco has some good tourist attractions outside the football, but the others not so much.
Also weather wise, the 3 worst cities.

Thus, here is my final draw simulation:

I just wanted to go through and see how many of my simulation combinations came to life:
  • Argentina drawn into Group J
  • Portugal drawn into Group K
  • Qatar and Switzerland together
  • Australia in Group D with USA and UEFA playoff nation
Not much really other than that...

You are there to watch football matches and get drunk, not to do tourist shite. You do not need to stay for days at a time, just arrive the day before to get the atmosphere and bailout the day after to the tourist type places.

I agree tickets for the USA game may be hard to come by/expensive. I would have thought though that there might not be such great demand for the other two games.
