Summer of Cricket thread

I've just read Webster has a Test batting average of 35 and a bowling average of 23!

Higher batting average than Green, and a lower bowling average than Green.

Incredible - and he is dropped! These figures are really successful for an all rounder in any team.

The selectors brought in 3 new players, or recovering from injury players, or previously lost Test form players to replace one player who has really performed.

Webster is also the best slips fielder in Aus, plus bowls off spin, as well as pace. If it were me I'd keep both Green ( younger project player) and Webster in the team.

Webster has done well, but he has only played a handful of Tests mate plus many more FC matches than Green. We are seeing the best of Beau, yet to see anywhere close to Cam's best.

Have you seen Riley Kingswell bat live this week Jon. I have rated him since the first time I saw him bat online, unfortunately never seen him live. Anyway am watching the Blues Seconds finish off this game and Kingsell is giving LNS a hiding. He just played the most exquisite front foot off drive from a late swinging delivery then followed that with an equally good back foot cover drive.

LNS is bowling like a beaten man this morning. Bend your back son and take a couple with you before they reach the winning target. This lack of fire in the belly from him is the difference between a state and a national class cricketer.

Kingsell wants to finish this quickly. Just pulled Neil-Smith over the mid wicket fence then next ball punched a powerful cover drive for four. He has all the shots, has a compact technique, solid defense, plays the ball late and doesnt seem flustered. This kid excites me. Blues selectors need to fast track him into the side, if not this yr definitely next.

Sorry to keep on about this guy, just reading he is also the youngest batsman to score a red ball double century in FIRST grade club cricket at only 19 years and 163 days old which means that not even our greats, Steve Smith, Ricky Ponting or Steve Waugh achieved that feat before his age.

I could have done, but the scoreboard had no info other than the two batters.

So, I don’t think so.

I’m happy to hear good reports. They are potential future Aus Test players.

It is still going?

The weather is awful! I’m not there at the ground! Windy, showery and cold. Now it is hailing!

Might be short of match fitness?
