General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

And, who are you to say what I can and can’t project ?
Fair point. Allow me to be more precise. You reached a conclusion on the basis of no evidence. You may be correct, and I agree you have every right to present conjecture even if unconnected with factual evidence. After all, that pretty much describes social media.

Do you actually really know anything about football, or are you just a writer ?

Strange question, but yes. I played at semi pro level and coached juniors. A lifelong passion. Keen follower of the A League, EPL, and the ECL. I have had a subscription to the A League since Season 1, even paying for the cursed Foxtel year upon year. I would classify myself as a knowledgable amateur.

So Jake Girchwood Reich from Sydney FC who went St Louis in the MLS is being loaned back out to Auckland FC for this upcoming season.

possible, but also possible he's just old

chiming back in considering Sutho ez again backed what I saw/see on the pitch and it makes me wonder how different you see it as well as other posters.
Be it 10 games or whatever as mentioned he was above the average AL norm through my eyes a long way I'll say.
Put aside you mention reputation (no one should judge by that also might I add) fact is his vision, abilty, positioning was better than the average bear that I watch here all he lacked was engine room mobility thats it period.
The mention Talay not knowing how to play him ? more so he didn't have a squad good enough to utilise and expose his gifts better more than anything. He went looking to get the ball, deeper than he needed have many times.
SFC from my observation lived off Segecic taking the game himself and goals, a few other notable young un's done well but where they ended up confirmed lack of quality let alone Talay I expect..
IF he played more games I would think they finished higher.

Sydney FC just signed a striker. Victor Campuzano. 28 years old. Not too bad.

Something that has always bene intriguing to me.

What is a ballpark figure of what a scholarship contract is worth?

I'm worried about Wellington, i think they are gonna be the new Bris Roar, there recruitment has been piss poor. I think we will be fighting for the spoon with Adelaide this season. We even had a player turn us down and rather play in the NPL then join the club, Deklan Wynne said No, the striker at Heidelberg said No and the No10 at Sth Melbourne said No!. like wtf man.
