2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

I was switching between matches last night. I enjoyed the APIA v Sydney Croatia match.

As expected, Preston overcame a spirited Brunswick Juventus.

What is going on at Heidelberg??? Apart from the Round of 32 match against Cumberland United, they have not won a match in nearly 2 months. They should have won last night against North Sunshine Eagles but missed too many opportunities.
The players seem totally switched off. Either something is happening behind the scenes at the club or the "best team in Australia" tag finally broke them.

They look wrecked, cant move the ball.

That said if they had Juach they would have scored at least one and still won.

They've sucked for 2 months now and the last month in particular woeful.

I wonder how many of their "Alexandra's Army" are going to bother to rock up to Lakeside the following Sunday? Their crowds seem to be shrinking on an hourly basis.

Overall we were better but didnt take our chances. that's football.
very much thats football, game of 2 halves as they say, our defense been iffy all season though normally score more that wasn't happening last night.....
You won the midfield battle - some good play from both - yep missing a finishing 9 you guys but again we also had chances not taken even when on the back foot.
Got to say the Japanese players stood out last night and Kalac (ironic his roots) was the cream on top.
I had de ja vue same place last year vsing bloody Marconi sneaking through on pens, guess it was our turn this time.
they announced 3,200 over the speakers at the game. You can thank the 2,000 croats that rocked up for that.
Beretta great turn out as always - top long evening again - healthy turn out as expected.
Luv the vibes SU always bring no matter where.
It was over policed as the FA deemed the match high risk lol, but there were no incidents to report on
yep OTT but no incident as mentioned - we were giggling the cops went to keep the rampaging kids in order at the far end lol.......

Maybe it’s just me but this year none of the top 3 in nsw; APIA, Sydney united, Marconi have looked unbeatable. You still get the feeling any of them could lose to any team on their day etc. all 3 have been impressive in patches and for spells throughout, but none of them seem like the complete package as teams imo

Still on the much coveted page one mate. Also, can we do double points from now on to catch the winners :)
I was glad to see so many of us tipped woefully in the end.
2/8 was common as haha

Interesting having just seen the the next tipping phase, SFC BLions straight most picks but the APIA MV SMH Prestons games has people thinking lot more..
APIA got no hope if we put on a similar show like last night but we shall see.

No bias but Sydney FC to win it!!!

In all seriousness, with no bias, I do think us or Victory will win it. It’d be cool to see an NPL team win it (provided it’s not against us and against the Vuckers, cause Fuck the Yuck Vuck with No Luck), but I think one of us will turn up when it comes to the final even if either team barely scrapes through in the semis.

I’m sure it’s been discussed, but what’s the venue availability like for the final. If in Melb which seems likely would it be lakeside again?
With one NPL side guaranteed to play in final I would presume so.. Both us and Preston would be happy with that, Bergers not so much hahahahahahah

The dark horse in all this is Lions, who played really well, If they made it through, no idea where it would be played.

If it’s in Sydney where would it be? Allianz isn’t an NPL ground but it’s a great stadium.

Pretty sure lions have the home advantage for the rest of the comp despite the fact they’re playing out of Brisbane city’s ground, but still. Looks a great set up btw, superior to Perry park from what I can see. But that could certainly be an advantage for them. Seems like they’re not to be taken lightly/tough to beat

If Lions FC reach the semi final, they would travel to Melbourne to face Preston or South.
