2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

re APIA v Sydney united.

Thought APIA were by far the better team in the first half, but Sydney united came back into it second half and probably in the end will feel they could/should have won. Hats off to them for turning it around coz it didn’t seem likely going into half time.

Crowd was announced as around ~2.5k, can’t remember the exact figure but something in that range. Thought in terms of numbers the support was a fairly even split in the stands.

Riot squad were in attendance, full body pat downs upon entry, mobile cctv cameras etc as per the aus championship game between the two clubs but I felt that the policing was maybe slightly less aggressive on this occasion. Segregation was less strictly enforced etc

APIA v Melbourne victory is in my humble opinion perhaps the least intriguing of the combos that those 4 clubs could have thrown up, but still… should be interesting

Overall we were better but didnt take our chances. that's football.

they announced 3,200 over the speakers at the game. You can thank the 2,000 croats that rocked up for that.

It was over policed as the FA deemed the match high risk lol, but there were no incidents to report on

And here i was thinking i am in Australia, silly me.

And why were they cheering him ffs
Looked like that dumb cunt Kyser Soze from Bergers stole poor Brians water bottle and went to hand it to the Heidelberg bench... The Sunshine bloke went to get it back and got himself a red card in the process... he DID give it back to his keepr though, I would have applauded the bloke as well.. Hope everyone there gave it to the Bergers and their shiftiness last night... grubs.

Great atmosphere tonight and scenes after the shootout, crowd was probably 70-30 NS, and was a very strong crowd considering it's a neutral venue, around 1500 my guess. Heidelberg very poor turnout. Rory Brian what a performance.

Record attendance at CB smith 2500+, keen to see what they get in the quarters
Preston have already announced 12, 545 attendance for next week.

I was switching between matches last night. I enjoyed the APIA v Sydney Croatia match.

As expected, Preston overcame a spirited Brunswick Juventus.

What is going on at Heidelberg??? Apart from the Round of 32 match against Cumberland United, they have not won a match in nearly 2 months. They should have won last night against North Sunshine Eagles but missed too many opportunities.
