2026 Sydney Super Cup

Just watched the highlights, I don't get it, Auckland get a great crowd of 40k+ and looking at tonight's game SFC only get around 15k if that, so many empty seats.

How anybody can pay that money to watch people training is beyond me. Real games or nothing for me these days.
marketing marketing #101
Glad I could watch on tv for far less - takes all types as they say.
Mind you Sutho in saying that many waste far more on gambling/smokes etc and it gave your team a badge of honour how much they competed in a training run and lost by pens - the development league is flourishing :).

I get your point. What else I should have said is, that a few years back, these games were drawing 70,000 + crowds, but no more as witnessed over the past two nights.

fair enough.
More than few years ago I reckon and seriously it is a crying shame maybe sign of the times as well ?
So much football is at your finger tips and there's a lot of contributing changing factors happenning.
We just went through the longest WC in history.

I say this with no malice but a football devotee who does wish the very best here.
APL - no matter the past and currrent probs something is a miss when the westies could grab 25K (should also have been more) whereas the no1 avg crowd puller struggled to get 15k.
Admittedly some would say Chelsea has a better pull due to their win history than Spurs yet Spurs brought a far better line up.
Why didn't the many "event" goers that normally boost your crowds not turn up.
Put the cost aside, event goers happily pay over $100 for other random BS.

The devottee viewer similar to me having no interest in SFC hurts avg's.
For the younger brigade - long before AL/APL, we'd all be at touring games.
eg FNSW would pick a best squad representing NSW from all the clubs v Wolves - so be it Chelsea/Spurs.
All these games used to be packed house's, the Sydney Sport Ground as it was known from memory.
Maybe they should looking at it that way - have a mix of players from all the clubs therefore the interest spreads across all your Sydney APL clubs incl CCM.
Being they made it a Festival round robin of 4 - could have NSW East NSW West plus the 2 visiting clubs.
May spread the interest and brew up some derby rivarly type of marketing speil.

Sorry, but your last two paragraphs are just Yankee bullshit, similar to " all stars".
I have only ever been to one all-stars game (hardly any stars to be fair) and that was the official opening of the Olympic stadium, and what a snooze feast that was for $132 in 1999. I vowed, never again.

I get you but this is what the event goers go and the new dawners.
I'm just trying to salvage that sinking feeling like a salvage crew chief lol.....

In the landscape of Australian football, these are ginormous football clubs.

LFC, Man U, Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, Bayern, Barcelona. I'm talking about clubs with history - not clubs with with Johnny come lately multi-billionaire owners that only seemed to think the game started with the EPL.
