It’s a tricky one because if it had not been for the absolute clusterf*** known as the Serbian FA, we may not be able to discuss if he is open to Serbia, Australia or both even still lol.Is he still open to representing Serbia?
I don’t think it’s any secret that Luka’s dad Srdan (played for Partizan) wants his son to play for the old country and Luka was also leaning that way until a huge faux pass by the SFA
Jovanovics family were contacted via phone by an employee from the SFA roughly 18 months ago. As you can imagine the family were absolutely thrilled with this, but they never received a call back after that and have since soured on the representation
The person who contacted the family is no longer employed by the SFA and there has been little moment ever since (they’re more preoccupied targeting dual nationality arsenal youth players currently)
Not unusual though like I said, because the SFA is a cluster**** - It has too many people with their own self serving agendas, connections to the president, government, security forces etc etc
Serbia has always had the players to be ranked anywhere between #15-#25 in the world, unfortunately until they fix their own federation – they will never reach full potential
I know they don’t want to, but they need to look at the country that borders them to the east (Croatia) in relation to an FA that does right by its players.
