IMO Green is more of a batting all rounder. His batting in the series so far is a bit disappointing.

Bowling wise if he can just bowl at bit tighter i will be happy.

My recollection is Webster doesn't leak a lot of runs. Is is ideal if the allrounder can bowl long spells of tight bowling and chip in with the occasional wicket.

I would still like to aee Webster in the side for the last 2 tests.

So with Cummins probably out and Lyons definitely out what is the team for Melbourne.

For me

Head, Weatherald, Labuschagne, Smith, Khawaja, Carey, Webster, Neser, Starc, Boland, Murphy.
Looks like the logical XI but there's no way the selectors' golden child Cam Green will be dropped.

The UK media is having kittens.

As soon as England lost the first Test inside two days Bazball was doomed to fail and eventually die out. I'd say Travis Head continues to have field days for the rest of the series and post good figures then Travball will no doubt be undisputed.

At the Presentation Ceremony Ben Stokes told Isa Guha that Australia ''executed things more consistently than us''. That is a massive understatement Stokes. Australia were more clinical, smarter, ruthless and better tactically in all the important moments of each Test. Just when your guys sensed the ascendancy our guys came back with a killer blow such as a vital partnership or a swag of wickets or your guys threw away that ascendancy with a brain dead shot from a form of aggressive batting instigated by your coach because that is the way he played his Test cricket. England will now have to live with the fact that they have not beaten us on Aussie soil since 1990/91. That is 10 consecutive series over more than a generation.

Do Tasmania produce its own talent or just nick players from NSW?
Tas has 500 000 population.

That figure is inflated by a double hundred on a Galle featherbed. His home record before this series was in the mid 20s, while he also had a shocker of a West Indies tour.

NSW has 8 million.
NSW has 16 times Tas’s population.

NSW has too many quality players. Tas doesn’t have enough.

We have Webster, Meredith (one of the fastest bowlers in the world), Gabe Bell, Jewell (a brutal opener), and other all rounders Owen, O'Connor, Louis Smith, as Tassie home grown products ATM.

Brilliant to win The Ashes!

However, we have 2 dead rubbers.

Was very impressed by Smith and Jacks' batting under pressure for the Poms, but maybe they should be selected as specialist batters?

They need their best keeper, Foakes, playing at 7, and a specialist spinner instead of Jacks.
