I don’t know why I’m getting into a back and forth about this, but here goes… that’s what Melbourne city’s home end is because it’s painfully obvious that city football group don’t even pretend to give the slightest fark about the fans they do have. They’ve burned multiple deluded but well meaning supporter groups in the past. If they cared what fans thought they’d not have completely rebranded and erased what little identity the club had when they took over Melbourne heart. For anyone who attended a Sydney derby at its height you’d know that 1) there was something of real value to the league and a point of difference/selling point there and 2) the demographics of Melb city’s home end aren’t necessarily the demographics of other clubs home ends. I acknowledge that’s there’s a lot of deluded people involved in these groups who think they’re bigger than the club and represent the thoughts and feelings of greater supporter base when it’s not the reality. And I know there’s a lot of teenaged posers in there too. But this kind of complete and utter dismissive contempt for voices from outside the boardroom is representative of one reason why Melbourne city has struggled to build a meaningful supporter base. Again, I’m much more sympathetic towards clubs who have grown organically over time than the a league model, but not all a league clubs are created equally, some are better and worse than others. Melb city in my opinion.. is very bad. But each to their own
