The other thing to is if the war goes worse for Russia and Putin goes, it’s not like some democratically elected progressive peaceful person is coming in. The next option would likely be even worse.I heard an interesting interview on BBC breakfast radio the other day with a Polish cabinet minister.
From his point of view, the best response to Russia/Putin would be the provision of full technical and financial support for Ukraine from all NATO countries, instead of the current half hearted efforts, coupled with real sanctions, to include sanctions on those countries supporting Putin.
Of course, this would have to include a complete cessation of Russian oil imports.....
Unlikely.
You cannot dismantle decades/centuries old thinking and systems.
