World cup 2026 Draw

Tough draw. USA at home plus some favourable refereeing. Paraguay one of the strongest teams in pot 3, very well organised and tough to break down. This is the type of team Australia has had problems playing against.

From Europe, hoping for Kosovo but most likely Turkey.

Soccerooos def in a.group of death, no way they get out of it. NZ should progress otherwise with a nice draw very happy for them.

If I'm correct, Slovakia (ranked 45) will play Kosovo at home, and if they win, will also play Turkiye/Romania at home, so maybe a strong chance. They finished 2nd behind Germany.

Kosovo (ranked 80) finished 2nd behind Switzerland on 11 points, in a group where Sweden got 2 points!

Turkiye (ranked 25) finished 2nd behind Spain with 13 points from 6 games (only 1 loss).

Romania (ranked 47) finished 3rd behind Austria and Bosnia Herzegovina and only qualified via pot 4 (i.e., based on Nations League).

USA ranked 14 and Paraguay ranked 39.

You are there to watch football matches and get drunk, not to do tourist shite. You do not need to stay for days at a time, just arrive the day before to get the atmosphere and bailout the day after to the tourist type places.
I disagree. I'm spending nearly 30k for a 'once in a lifetime' trip for me and my son. The weather, tourist attractions and cities are not as important as the matches, but they are important. The whole extra cost thing is also going to be a real shit.

Pressure will on the americans to get a result against us, we need to take advantage of that.

No reason why we cant get out the group as a 3rd placed team.

For those of us actually going to the tournament, probably the worst draw possible.
In the USA's group means tickets will be super hard to get and expensive.
Only 71k capacity for the match against USA.
Only 54k capacity for the match in Canada.
The 3 cities, Vancouver, San Francisco and Seattle are not great.
San Francisco has some good tourist attractions outside the football, but the others not so much.
Also weather wise, the 3 worst cities.
Welcome.

Washington state (where Seattle is) is awesome as long as you're not in Seattle. Just find a hotel that's an hour away from the game while you're there and there's plenty to enjoy. In summer we get about 16 hours of sunlight each day too.

Likewise for Vancouver, just stay in Northern Vancouver, north of Stanley Park.

I spent 14k on an apartment in Mexico City for the whole World Cup.

I couldn’t care less if Aus are playing there or not. Obviously would’ve been better. But again, as you said, being there is once in a lifetime opportunity.

With 8 best 3rd placed teams go through, almost everyone goes to next round.

3 points will be enough ffs lol

Problem is this only provokes Popovic into a cautious approach hoping to snag a win. Games against anyone bigger is submission. I fear narrow losses.
Popovic was gonna play back foot football whoever we drew. 5-2-3. Same formation every damn game.

I reckon it's a sick draw for travel!

Depends on what you want really. There are a lot of things you can do aside from the game to keep yourself occupied. That corner of America is a natural wonder. Seattle may not have that much as a city itself.

So now the wiki has changed with non host group games being listed as at that stadium or the other.

There was enough information about but I didn't necessarily see this explicitly stated so I think a lot of people have rushed bookings and will be in got a rude shock.

Philadelphia can be fun but I felt the east coast corridor could also be a bit dull or predictable. Glad to have avoided Kansas City.
