World Cup 2026 Australia thread

Herrington becomes the 35th youngest of all-time at a men's World Cup, Australia's second youngest ever WC player. Kuol is 11th. Chris Wood (NZ) 23rd.

WC Australia only:

Turkish fans saying the would've won the group. The only reason their team played well was because the midfield hogs were taken out and the pressure was off. They went into the first two games so naively.

Honestly if we get to gave Argentina against I won't be satisfied unless we absolutely rattle them. Draw blood, crack skulls. Of course play football but these diving bastards need a taste of their own medicine.

Woulda coulda shoulda. Whatever fans think they lost the group because the coaching staff and players thought that they would win simply because they are better and failed to do their homework on the opposition and had no plans on how to break down their defences. It's all a matter of respect for your opposition, and the Turks showed none to us and Paraguay.

Here’s something interesting (well to me anyway).
Turkey entered the WC as holders of the Unofficial World Championship. We won this from them in round 1 only to lose it to the USA. But Turkey subsequently won it back again with their last minute winner.
So for perhaps the first time, the WC and UWC titles will not be unified, despite both title holders qualifying for the World Cup finals.

Not sure anyone already mentioned but SBS has had some awesome football movies just to name a few I've seen lately on sbs world movies.

Shaolin Soccer, A shot at glory with Duvall, next goal wins which is about the 31-0 we did over America Samoa - kind of.

I'm sure there's been more too. Awesome content.
