Absolutely. If they had Ironbark fields from the beginning and construction of the proper stadium was well underway, the support would be there. It all comes down to that promise of the club-owned stadium. There is/was a much bigger supporter base than it appeared on screen. Many people had adopted the lets-wait-and-see approach. They weren't going to go all in until that stadium was built. Sure enough, they were right to be cautious.

If the housing development goes ahead and they build the 5 thousand or so houses in the area or whatever the number is, they would pretty much have a captive audience whithin walking distance with no oither entertainment or sporting options.. whether the new migrants chose to gel with the club is entirely up to WU engage with the locals... Its a long wait till their catchment area population actually exists though, I would say 5-10 years.

I don't know exactly who but i would guess either that or a similar group/same group as who tried to take over last month (johnson controls). If it was avondale it would have broken everywhere by now. Horvat and co still involved though so thats interesting

Sticca was involved heavily with Carlton AND Sydney FC start up... Horvat, despite being a treasured son of Melbourne Croatia didnt show them any sympathy.. Interesting that both Zinni and Bissetto have sons at NPL VIC clubs they arent a part of

So, Western United were only given a licence because they were going to build a stadium.

When will people learn?

No matter how good it might sound, the noise that comes out of ar$eholes is hot air with a bad smell.

And the AFLW oval will no doubt be heavily subsidised by the Government on top of it all.
