I want SM taking the license and i cant believe im admitting this considering i've pretty much been against all our A league bids. The past month tells me my club can only excel playing not just at the highest level but in a summer calendar. The suits need to find a way to make this happen. We are a summer sleeping giant, but in winter we will continue to just...sleep.

As long as they dissociate themselves from South Melbourne Hellas FC and create some sort of plastic entity that doesn't use our name or colours, they can do whatever they want...

Not yet. Licence has just been paused for this season.
A proper decision would have to be made soon though.

But the sticking point of the money that they owe is still around so any decision would need to take this account I would imagine. Could be wrong unless the license just gets transferred to someone else.

AFL's new stadium in Tassie, this plan sounds familiar, what vision!

"A private investment group is pushing an alternative proposal they claim is superior in every way.

MAC 2.0 is pitching an entirely different precinct that would transform the Macquarie and Regatta Point area with far more than just a football stadium.

The ambitious proposal includes a private hospital that would bolster the Tasmanian healthcare system, affordable housing to aid workers in the area, plus a hotel, hundreds of apartments, a convention centre and a bigger car park.

Remarkably, the investors say this expanded development would cost the same as the current stadium proposal."

Its even beaten the NRL Bulldogs club thread.... maybe some of the other franchises are jealous?
There is the saying that all publicity is good publicity

Maybe football should just embrace a bad boy image and chase negative headlines
