As soon as we announced Nduka had re-signed, I was hoping the Sawyer rumours weren’t true. But unfortunately, they were. I don’t see Sawyer as anything more than a backup striker at AL level.

We have also signed Mikey Ghossaini to a senior contract who is banging in goals for fun in the VPL1, but he’s only 18. You’d think we won’t be signing anymore strikers as we wouldn’t wanna block Ghossaini’s pathway to the senior team.

So we are going into the season with no proven AL strikers… I don’t necessarily mind Nduka, but I think we needed someone of similar ilk to challenge him for a spot in the starting 11. We went into last season with Vergos having no legitimate challenger to his spot in the team and look at how that turned out?

But who knows, maybe Mikey Ghossaini will challenge Nduka… or at least the club is banking on the hope that he will.

Well the squads starting to take shape. It's not a great shape but its certainly some kind of amorphous blob.

Sick to death of mercenaries, Patrick Wall dreamt of playing for Victory since age 6, spent time in the Nth Terrace.
How was he not worth a scholarship punt?

Yeah but he went back to boyhood club Nth Geelong for a "reset" first
To be fair to some of these kids (although I understand what you are saying) some of their parents have paid a kings ransom for their footballing up till now so Its only natural they chase the best cash offer.

Apparently we've signed Philipp Ziereis.
33 years, centre back or right back.
Formerly of St Pauli (151 matches there)
More recently in Austrian Bundesliga then last season in German 2.Bundesliga
Looks to have barely missed a match in six season, durable AF

Miranda replacement with a less impressive but still decent career. I have an open mind.
