I’m not sure it’ll work as well as he wants it to, but Hanlin has said a few times that he wants Olympic to focus on the championship and now views the npl the same way the a league clubs do, as a place to prioritise youth development…will be interesting to see how he attempts to go about that. I dare say that might hypothetically be the long term future for all the championship clubs anyway if it were to go to a home and away league and clubs were to retain their spots in their local npls for their under 23/youth teams or whatever. A lot of water to go under the bridge yet in that regard, no one really knows what’ll happen. As of right now clearly the support base aren’t onboard with that plan and I think it’s far too early to start doing it when the npl is still your bread and butter and the championship isn’t even confirmed as a home and away format yet so maybe he’s just talking out of his ass.Maybe the problem is Olympic? Maybe they will pull out of it? And then what?
