Kinda think a small admission charge would assist Tassie grassroots cricket. You could get in for free down here.
Even a gold coin donation at a minimum!Kinda think a small admission charge would assist Tassie grassroots cricket.
Both are. Bailey says either is a good chance to open, only a matter of what type they prefer , the aggressive Weatherald or the more patient Labuchagne. I'd love to see the Tassie slugger show the Pommies we Aussies can also use bazball.Weatherald in Test contention.
Labu has scored heaps too.

Many thanks odw. Seems the younger generation, like Patrick Zie are adopting the policy of what you say, breaking free from the shackles. In the same game his partner also scored a ton but off 250 or so balls. So I do believe there is still that need for the traditional patient approach, specially at Test level as the match runs for five days and that is a lot of time to fill with only two innings per side..Love that story Rich!
There is some real young talent out there no doubt and my hope is that more and more of them bat in a way free from the shackles of orthodoxy and tradition. Batting is about scoring runs and swinging the bat to do it makes the most sense.
Absolutely! As they say you can't score from the pavilion, so knowing when to preserve your wicket and when to attack is one of the great arts of batting. Many thanks odw. Thanks.DC Tassie has promising all rounders Aidan O'Connor and Louis Smith, my state has Addison Sherriff, who at a juvenile 17 years scored a First Grade century (115) for his club UTS North Sydney. Also at 17 yr old Addison took 7/37 joining only two cricketers Sam Robson and Bob Simpson as the only players to have both a first-grade century and a five wicket haul before the age of 18! Last yr he scored his second club ton at 18, in fact it was in the same match as that of Patrick Zie.

I wonder if Labu being a right handed bat as opposed to Weatherald being a lefty will come into calculations? Both are. CA does prefer a l/r opening combo, so I'd say definitely.I wonder if Labu being a right handed bat as opposed to Weatherald being a lefty will come into calculations?
Probably because he has not figured in any underage national sides DC, only due to injury am betting. Shame on you TC members for not following your own Pathways kids, given Louis is an Emerging Tiger. Surprised he did not join Aidan O'Connor on the 25/26 rookie list to be honest. Only reason I can think of is selectors prob figured one all rounder was sufficient. Some states have as many as five rookies this season, Tassie only chose three.Thanks.
None of us in Tas Crick members had heard of Louis Smith, apart from me hearing about him from you a while ago, and not being able to remember his name?
Frustrating at ground with big winds.Stop/start contest DC. One good thing is it reduces the overs, making for a better game.
Ha ha!Time 50 over cricket was consigned to history. BOORRING!
