There was a time Al Hasan was Australia's highest potential striker. Give him a go. At the same time the Scotland strikers should be disappointed.

Juric is that tall, rangy striker that could be beneficial in parts of the match.

Okon has been pretty dominant for sydney

Overy is bizarre but maybe he is already good enough? I guess we find out

A wider net by Popovic and March is the deadline window.

However, Hiddink selected Beauchamp, Millgan and Kennedy right at the last in 2006. Some were integrated for the Solomon Islands games.

Do these friendlies count towards locking in for Australia?
i believe so if there are 3

Wonder if okons dad stays on long enough for the younger okon to get a roo call up. A scout described him as the most talent player of his age he has ever seen which sounds a big wrap

I thought friendlies don’t count at all. I thought it was 3 competitive games before age 22, or one from age 22 onwards.

Or a single game in World Cup or continental championship finals, irrespective of age.

So what no presser by Popa for the squad announcement?? No shitty audio of him standing weirdly under a suburban bridge whilst passers by look on in berwilderment?

But seriously is this what it has come to....just posting the squad. Fuck me.

Hang on, these friendlies count towards locking in? Surely not? Referring to Okon with some parent rule perhaps?

Overy looked very steady for the U20. He seemed to have an education where he was thinking a few steps ahead.

Agree he looked class for the U20. We're talking about hardened international footballers here though, this is mens vs boys type stuff. He literally turns 18 in two days I think.

I hope he's given every chance to put his case forward, but if he does and gets minutes then wow....we have a serious talent on our hands here.

1) kewell
2) ikonomidis
3) robertson

Any others?

I thnk that scout was talking about his (Paul Okon-Engstler's) younger brother!

Inevitable withdrawals incoming.
