Just know it'll be Rowles at LWB and Boyle starting. Want to see Elder and he may falter is this game but that doesn't mean we shouldn't persist.

I really would have liked to have seen Sapsford instead of Toure, but I've been pretty happy with Pippa's selections, press's and overall stewardship.
I'm looking forward to the game.

3 debutants in the starting lineup. A mixture of experience, young guys who have made an impact in their short time with the team, and young guys we are yet to see at this level. I really don't think Popovic cares too much about trying to get in pot 2, he just wants to see as many players as possible with an eye to both tournaments we have to play in the next 15 months. I suspect the March squad will be very close to his world cup squad. I don't think this one is and would be surprised if more than half this squad is there next June.

So Goodwin LWB? Interesting experiment when we have Elder in the squad. Unless we're playing Metcalfe there.

Cool squad to see how they go. Will probably struggle though 😂

Nice to see the purpose of friendlies being used here for some big rotation but again some getting a start right while others are benched is frustrating.

O'Neill again from the start. That's 13 games under Popovic and I believe the most.

Goodwin surely LWB but I think a bit it adventure and shifting will happen.

Unfortunately for us we don't get to see what goes on in training and how some players pull up physically after the trip. I agree it can be frustrating for us fans as we only get to see the games and we would love to see how some of them go in a match situation.

A number of factors out there. At least Elder and Devlin are on the bench. I just don't enjoy Popovic bringing in players who've cleared earned a chance for him to then say the player isn't what we're looking for. I hardly think they're square pegs.

Although we might not always have the same players in mind I think if we have a friendly window with two matches all the players brought in should get some reasonable game time ie at least 15 minutes in one game. I can understand being more conservative in competitive windows and our poor start to round 3 had us in a situation where Popovic, rightly or wrongly, decided that he would rely on experienced players who could play in his system. I was a bit disappointed in our first two friendly windows that not everyone got a chance in a match.
