If we play the same way we did today we can still eke out a draw against the United States though but of course we'll have to adapt the system since their midfield and forward line are more dangerous compared to Turkey.

Thing is we weren't boring. I was so gripped at being suffocated and the challenge it presented. I was that asphyxiated that I can cancel my domina appointment this week.

Yes, very true - I think the key for US will be to not let them score first/early.

However, there’s too many different scenarios to even fathom who could/would/can finish 3rd and 4th.

Only thing I can work out is - I believe a draw in either game for us should see us finish at least 3rd in the group - and will likely above the cut off for best third places. Lose both games, and well.. whoever loses the most to USA will be the team to lose out.

Popaball relies on parking the bus but what worked for us was that we forced Turkey forward before our tall centre backs blocked their shots at goal and progressed the ball downfield which led to us finding the back of the net through the counter attack.

Was very impressed with the dribbling skills of the Turkish left wingers. Nothing complex just body swerves/shoulder feints, Matthews Cuts, plus standard cuts, with good changes of pace.

Turkey have fabulous players, but their cohesion as a defensive unit ultimately let them down.

They also only played 8 WCQ games. Aus played about 20.
 
The next game is going to be a lot tougher. I want to see how attack a bit more, we have the ability, was just some decisions in the final-third which lacked cohesion but we are very clinical with our opportunities. The USA game will be much more free-flowing than this game was.
