Yep - that's why it was funny watching the news when Jarryd Hayne and Valentine Holmes were doing NFL - the newspeople would always emphasise and elongate the Rugby part, by saying things like 'He's a rugby player from Australia's National Rugby League'

Not really. I think Greece has a rugby team but no idea if 20/20 or big bash version to me they are all the same and I care about it as much as the Greek Water Polo team winning the world cup, in SYDNEY of all places, two days ago.

I think they tightened their eligibility rules but it's a joke how one can play for Tonga in a series then go back to NZ. If the talent were spread across the Pacific nations, South Africa and France work hard to get some Union discards, Ireland, Scotland and even Argentina, it'd be more balanced.

The gulf in class between Australia and NZ to England is large enough.

Yep....I actually quite like watching the occasional NRL game because it's a good all-action team sport to watch.

But for me there's so much round ball football going on I just can't find the time or inclination to really invest in it.

pre Superleague days I'd watch it if it didn't conflict something else.
Plus is was the good ol biffo days.
It lost me after then barring watching SOO (still nothing like the original days) and finals series only if we arn't out.
I've always giggled at their WC for its hardly got anything to boast of same applies to Union to me, mosh pit of a game than league.
Couldn't believe good ol Campese went to Italy and helped them improve - I still shake my head they are in Union, its weird.

Good thing they didn't put the trojan horse in the pool. Australia beat Spain in this tournament but I'm not sure what strength the Euro teas sent.
