I get that. You play what's in front of you. I think it would have just been better for confidence and mentality to pick up that win. A players picks up a goal or two that boosts their confidence for the next game. In tournament football there are so many variables. Picking up a win and playing an attacking brand of football puts your opposition on notice, or gets them to rethink their tactics and team selections. Things that can help sway your favour.I get what you’re saying, but we didn’t have to beat Paraguay. This is tournament play. It’s about doing enough to progress. To do that you play to your strengths and you don’t take risks. In 2010 WC Spain scored only 8 goals in 7 games. I reckon not one Spaniard complained about them playing too defensively.
