South and Preston worked well together earlier this year, so I cant see anything being different this time. It's in the interests for both teams to have a sold out crowd at Lakeside.
 
If we were smart we open the the whole ground on Saturday. Even having 50 preston fans in the same grandstand represents some sort of risk. In addition the more available covered seating for spectators the better considering the weather.

Preston have a big must win match the very next day at home, doubt they would be schlepping across Melbourne to support their country cousins.

I think Nick and David's friendship went a long way towards both clubs working so well together in the past three matches we have recently played with Preston...

Bill Paps, as the self proclaimed bastion of Melbourne's "Greekdom" will perhaps find it challenging to be so accommodating to Sun of Vergina banners... time will tell. Both clubs have to get there first.

Turning a blind eye to them wasnt my preferred option either as it was not most ppl at the games etc, cheaply printed bed sheet or not, its provocation, and its either responded to accordnigly or banned from the get go? Paps would be perfectly in line with the latter and rightly so imo!
 
No one has an issue with chanting hellas or whatever historically challenged they want to chant on their end,.........The sun of Vergina remains a protected Greek symbol, and as such there should be full antithesis when its employed by others for purely provocational purposes, akin to, say raising a Bulgarian flag for no reason on our side, or better still with a pic of Gotse Delchev on it, no?

There is a clear distinction between accepted support and provocation!

Slightly different as its not displayed whole in the logo but yes it does, among others (rockdale is worse)... we are talking about flags banners etc used to directly incite, just like Alexander or am i always imagining it? Is it always our side that instigates at every ground? Why the need to display thenstar and not the actual national flag which most cant say a word about?

Point is if the olympic commitee has the ability to enforce ownership/trademark then perhaps historical heritage should fit the bill also.

Illiteracy or simplicity is no longer a valid excuse for underhanded falsities or innacuracies on their part!

I actually find it flattering that another culture would chose ours as the model they aspire to.

I didn't take a photo of it but it was quite literately on old cricket style one line thing with "Sydney Olympic 1 v South Melbourne 2" on the other side of the pitch over some sort of shack thing? Down here, even 2nd and 3rd tier clubs have electronic scoreboards at the very least.
