I dont think Fornaroli is a true marquee, especially playing for Avondale.

It would have hit different if he was playing for South though. Some clubs just have little appeal and Avondale is one of them.

Try as they might they cant buy status!

You and @Monoethnic Social Club got me thinking though and im struggling to find a marquee currently i would bring in and spend stupid money on and who would raise and sustain the crowd by the thousands to make it worth while and that will add top quality.

Only greeks i think anyone might know and may be possible are Costas Fortounis or Nikos Kourbelis who would at best be limited drawcards. Only a known EPL player in twilight at best might offer some movement but even that hasnt really worked here either.

The whole of the AL and they only have a Mata who is what, 38? Incentive to move to Australia for football seems to have dissipated.

Thats the thing though mate.... I dont think there IS a player that would move the needle enough to justify the spend (that we can afford) at this stage... If we were in the Aleague then perhaps, but I dont think we could have attracted more people last Friday than we did if Fornaroli was playing... I really don't.

We should play up the fact that Marko is playing against his little brother...... I know its cheezy as fuck but cant be worse than that dickhead (do you know who I am?) Bissetto and his cringey son
 
I had a feeling after last week they would take the foot off the peddle and said as much.. no one should be resting on laurels now just bc first week was deemed a success. We should be pushing as we have another week of clear way before AL starts to continue with the exposure footprint, after that we will be saturated until we get big clashes to promote in the next round... hooking them on the backnof first week even with free tix would be a win.

Hopefully some better merch is released soon, this year (outside of the heritage) has been a little dissapointing i think! Then again couldve just ended up with a rag like the participation in the Au cup tee some were fashioning at the village! Hahaha
 
I'm assuming there are no injury concerns from the Olympic match - just the 2 players away on international duty.

I can see the coach keeping a similar starting XI, with the exception of including Aguek and maybe dropping Mikkola.

I think he will probably start with same 11. I think Lavale will start and Aguek will come on as sub (although i prefer Aguek to start). No reason Mikkola will be dropped, having watched the replay aswell.
