You are right. But we need to as the current squad is not good enough to challenge for the Australian Championship.

The big question is what are we going to see from Pasquali? Injury prone but if he can stay fit and healthy, he could prove to be the difference in the front third.

lavale the standout in that lot imo

are souths signing more than other championship clubs, or am I just more aware of it because of how many souths fans we have here :D

I don't have social media so any "investigating" from me on other clubs is limited to what come sup on a google search. I tried getting the other thread started but doesnt seemt o be anyone else making any announcents.. Preston are still overseas, Heidelberg are still blaming South for their fans mistakenly buying North stand before the FA released South stand tickets for the Australia Cup game ,.. lol peasants and Avondale have signed Fornarolli and are using his image for everything from SBS promos to ladies underwear catalogues... the rest, radio silence.

we have 17 south melbourne supporters, surely there are more than 2 preston/apia/marconi/sydney united supporters that want to join the best football forum in Australia?

This stat sort of shows why South have been the only traditional old ethnic club to want in to the top division.

Yes, Preston are killing us with crowds, but they are, in many respects, an insular club of sorts. Heavily marketing themselves to their own community.

Preston has a ceiling of 3-4k supporters which they've already hit at this level. This is largely where they were in the nsl days as well, usually lifting to 6k when they played South or another derby.

South cant draw crowds at npl level but the club knows the base is significantly higher at the top level.

They do their own well... but as you said it ceiling!

I agree with this... i strongly believe we should have better showing in the stands though, the npl bind isnt the only reason for our figures!
