I agree that it needs to be a top shelf signing. We had a great run with Roganovic, Clarke was solid for us and Lopez was great.

Hilton would be my personal pick but i cant see him playing in Victoria.

CS George Cross drew with St Albans. They are now 4 points below us. Another good result for us.

All eyes this week on whether we can back it up with another win against Preston. Win on Saturday, and we potentially move up to 4th on the ladder depending on other results.

One more draw this round between melb city and GX this weekend would be ideal.....

Would be a great outcome if CS George Cross and Melbourne City Youth play out a draw. We need to do our thing too and that is defeat Preston.

I'd love to see Avondale drop points to St Albans but at home they should win that one. The interesting one is the match between Altona Magic and Heidelberg. Just cannot see Altona getting the job done. Most we can hope there is a draw.

Given the hole we dug for ourselves with the madness of fielding youth players exclusively in May and the losses to Altona and Green Gully, we have been forced to rely on other favourable results. Some results have gone our way thankfully, but luck can only go so far. At the end of the day, you need to win matches.

Agree, but at least the ball is somewhat in our court now...

Preston, Oakleigh, Dinamo, Melbourne City, Bergers and Georgies... 3 wins and a draw will see us play finals. If we beat at least the 3 below us, it should be fine.

Not the case, If we win the other 4 that means Georgies cant catch us (as one of out matches is against them) and (presuming Melbourne lose to Preston on their catch up) they cant catch us either as one of our matches will be against them.

We just need some form going into finals.
 
Looking at Prestons remaining games, we are the last danger game for them, they will smash the teams they play in the remaining games after us, they could even push for top 3. They have Bentleigh, Gully, Thunder and Altona all at home. With just dandy city away who will be out of contention by then.

The most vulnerable sides are City and Heidelberg.
 
This is why it is so important that we defeat both Preston and Oakleigh over the next 2 weeks. It builds confidence, creates momentum and sends a message to the rest of the top 6 teams.

We wont see another chance at Preston dropping points if they manage to avoid defeat at Lakeside. We need to beat them given we have tough away matches to Oakleigh, Melbourne City Youth and CS George Cross coming up.
