Totally diferent game this saturday... Preston have much more quality than Dandy and will press our MF and DF a lot more! Charlston will need to be fully alert at every opportunity especially bc they bring in height at set pieces (that reaction save in 1st was world class).. our llines will need to be a lot tighter, and we will need to press from the top down, this to me means mikkola starts instead of cocks and Juach is.on from minute 1.
Dont predict heaps of chances here.so have to be clinical when they present themselves and avoid silly mistakes (there was again a few but dandy was too out of sorts, shut down, to capitalise)..

I thought Cocks was disappointing last night. Maybe he has more limitations than I thought, and that he should go back to being an impact substitution. It now looks like we can afford to do that.

Yet, we still found time to give Nepo Baby a run! And poor old Lackay misses out, to accommodate all the money that daddy gives us.

Lackay missing out is not a bad thing. He’s another that needs to join Nepo in State League 7 next season

Im ok with that...Lackay isnt good enough, heaps of chances and not at this level.

Spot on. The match against Preston will be a hell of a lot more difficult than than the Dandenong City match.

The added bonus for us is that we have a further week to get our new signings to gel with the existing squad. We’ll need to fully utilise bench players against Preston in order to maintain the intensity and running. There’s no room over the next 2 weeks for unnecessary substitutions. It’s 5 players that will come on and add value to the team.

If Preston rests some players due to their Australia Cup fixture against Newcastle Jets, we are in it. Get a hard fought 1-0 win and that will see us jump Preston on the ladder and give the playing squad a tremendous boost in confidence.

One of Cocks’ shortcomings is his lack of tracking back to provide defensive cover when we lose the ball. I would keep Cocks on the bench, and utilise him as an impact player for the last 20-30 minutes.
 
I was really impressed by Yoo, Ramazani and Nkomo. All came on and gave there absolute all, Ramazani clearly best on was so calm and composed on the ball and nothing got past him. Best part about it is he doesnt need time to gel like Juach being a striker, his instant impact could prove massive for us in these next three crucial clashes.
 
Nkomo positioning seemed very poor to me got caught out a few times although he's normally left sided so that might have thrown him out a bit. Positive is that when Eliopoulos is back it would mean either painter andrews or ramazani don't start meaning they can come on and do a strong job in defence
 
Charlston did well but im not sure he will be able to handle real aerial bombardment. It just means we have to be more dominant in games.

Next week will be very tricky with Bryce and Bozinovski coming up for corners/set pieces.

We absolutely need to start thinking about a post Lopez world, a lot of the best keepers are really tied in with their clubs so it wont be easy.
