Yesterday was a disaster on so many fronts and some may argue it is emblematic of where we are at as a club.

We struggled to defeat a team that had seen 17 players walk out and had put together a ramshackle of 11 blokes who only probably learned each other's names over the last 24-48 hours. It was one of the worst matches we had played this year. Pretty much everything went against us. We struggled to score, we had shocking refereeing, and an opposition intent on kicking the crap out of us. Even Lopez's injury right at the end was proof that when it rains it pours. Lets hope the injury is not too serious, but I fear it is over for him for the remainder of the NPL season.

The gulf in quality was enormous between both sides. We just need to be more accurate in front of goals, because we did everything apart from actually shooting properly. Our midfield set up was just mind boggling insane. Unless Menelaou is injured, he should have started alongside Pasquali. Our midfield set up is totally wrong.

The positives were Cocks and Yoo trying their best to get this club over the line. There were some good touches by Yoo in the second half. He looks to be linking up well with Uchida. We just need to see more of this.

As for our next match against Dandenong City, it is nothing short of 3 points required. It was good to see Ramazani get on the field and get some minutes. Retre must not have sufficient match fitness, so hopefully we see him for a bit on Friday. Juach will need to put in a 1-2 training sessions to try and get a feel of how we play. We may see him for a bit as well in the second half.

As for the scenes at the end of the match, it was inevitable. I called it weeks ago that something could happen and it did. It just makes us look like a circus. It makes us look so unprofessional. How do you attract sponsors and better players with these kinds of scenes. The best for everyone involved would be for him to try his luck elsewhere where he can play regular starting football.

If Ramazani starts on Friday, we can then move Giannakopoulos to midfield. That's two problems solved. Juach will be trying to overcome jet lag and will be lucky if he gets 2 training sessions in this week. Juach might only come on for the last 15 minutes if that.

With the midfield and defence changes suggested above, that should help stabilise the team. It then comes down to Yoo, Uchida, Swibel, or Mikkola in getting that elusive winning goal. Win on Friday night, and that buys more time to allow the team to gel. We just need some luck to go our way.

Ramazani and retre need to come in next game. Tommy can go back into the middle and psinter andrews can have a rest and start on the bench with retre to right back

Largely agree with the the above. The team was unbalanced. Way too much focus on attack without balancing the midfield.

We need Retre and Ramazani to start on Friday night, but it depends on their respective match fitness. That will move Giannakopoulos back into midfield.

Juach will be arriving Tuesday as others have mentioned, so Sinisa will properly start with Swibel and probably look to bring Juach on at around 70-75 minute mark.

100% agreed best take of the lot, what makes it more difficult is Dandy city playing like they were back half of last year and cant see us getting a result especially on their own turf.
 
Some of these players are potentially physically and mentally drained. Lampard, Mikkola, Jankovic, Pasquali, TG, Uchida and JPA have played a staggering amount of football since the championship, lots of games overseas etc. Then they have to deal with the off field noise. Our Aus championship recruitment will need to mirror last years, up to 6 new players needed.

I think our most important game is Adelaide United. We need to make a splash nationally, just not sure we are capable of beating anyone semi decent now.

Comes back to the point of having a core 6-7 players that focus on each competition, and you have your best players float between the two competitions. Right now we have made players compete in over 30 matches, and its just early July. Some real lessons can be drawn from our initial foray into managing multiple competitions.

That means you have to sign 6-7 players to ONLY a 4 month season.

Anyone half decent would then demand first team football as we have seen this year.
 
Remember earlier in the season we played Dandy City off the fucking park at Lakeside and should have won by about 7 goals? Well the reverse will happen this week and we will get absolutely belted I feel.

*sigh* I remember 4 wonderful goals that day... Eliopoulos injured, Swibel now missing them from the 6 yards box and Leech and Bonada banished from the kingdom.... A belting would be a kindness.
 
Dandy city last 2 home games have been 4-1 win over bergers and 3-1 over Avondale. We are absolutely in strife this week and the weeks that follow.

You cant even hang your hat on Lopez playing a blinder either.

The 6 points dropped against altona and gully finished us. We would be equal points with Avondale if we won those 2 games and in the top 4.

I'm going to reserve judgement until Friday night. Dandenong City are firing on all cylinders and we are struggling big time. Logic dictates that we are likely to lose. I can see Sinisa starting Ramazani on Friday night and dropping Mikkola. Yoo and Uchida will be on the wings. I am hoping that Retre will feature on Friday night along with Juach for 15 minutes. Swibel will need to score. This needs to be a decent performance.

Dandenong City will not park the bus on Friday night. We tend to play better away from home for some reason. Call it wishful thinking but I think there is a glimmer of hope. If we lose on Friday night, then it is season over.
