Im more upset that our depth is clearly not up to scratch. That lineup had comfortable exit written all over it.
We have ALL been saying this from the get go.... i expected a lot more from that lineup, thought there was enough talent there to fight this on more even terms and for some to show they should be in blue and white... end result i only see 1 (possibly 2 players) there that can step up to the senior squad and even then at best a bench spot.

The signings brought in were supposed to have made the difference in a talent driven side, none of which had, all have been a lot less than below par to not say anything a lot more direct.

Feels like it will be one of those years where we are in pursuit of so much but probably dont end up with anything.

Absolute massive game on Friday night as 3 defeats in a row are locked in after it.

Another keeper, CB, mid, and forward (probably 2) are a must in the transfer window. Spine has to be bolstered with quality.

Tonight we saw what our 2nd stringers are all about. They only look good off the bench when the main guys have smashed the other team.

We took the Cup fixture too lightly thinking that line up would do the job. Bulleen is not Hampton East Brighton. They’ve won something like their last 4-5 matches in a row. We literally had lost the match even before kicking a ball. You don’t lose by a 3 goal margin to a team one division below you.

As others have said, our firsf team starting XI is strong, if not the strongest in the league. Our second string players are bang average. Again it highlights to me the glaring problem - we are 3-4 quality players short.

We’ve given up on a possible trophy that we actually had a genuine chance of winning. We should have played Swibel and Lopez at a minimum.

I think we have all seen enough of Singh and Shalamanov-Trenkov to know that they are at best VPL standard.

I think tonight has shown that if our second string players are very average, and some of them may travel to Auckland, then we’ll have a largely U23s team for the month of May. I might watch the 3 matches in May on YouTube and focus on the OFC Pro League on FIFA+.

Its put a lot of pressure on our senior team to bank the 3 points on Friday, up to now they've been flawless but even they are due for a hiccup...hopefully not this week!

No chance im going to the village to see the massacre in a fortnight, depending on how the squad looks im likely out until we play Hume.

Club needs to put a lot of work into transfer window if we are to make ground in June and beyond and also be ready for an Australia cup run.

Tonights game was lost on Sunday night when Pouta jumped on 3XY and said players will be loaned out mid season to lower league clubs to gain some experience playing first team football. Pretty much if I heard that I would not be putting in anymore.

The team we put out tonight arent exactly babies. A heap of them will need to be kept for squad depth. Menelaou, Leech, Inglese, Cocks etc arent going anywhere.

The game was lost because 1) Javi could have a hand tied behind his back and still be better than our backup goalies, 2) we arrogantly decided to not play a single member of our regular back four, 3) not a single player of our regular midfield either. 4) Mesourouni and Singh (LOL)

The icing on the cake was having nothing on the bench to try change the game.

We have a huge squad but it thins out quickly after our best 11.

Bulleen are in good form chasing promotion, we must have been confused and thought we were playing Yarraville.

Its really simple. Start Javi, Janko, Pasquali and Bonada up front (good spine). Just 4 senior players and we would have had enough to win that game. We used senior players in Fiji for a dead rubber 3 days before St albans yet we couldnt use a handful to see off Bulleen?

Its either arrogance or we really wanted to lose to ease fixture congestion. By the make up of our bench i think we wanted out.

For those mentioning trenkov he was nowhere near the problem tonight and had a fairly good game. Was confident in the air and made some good saves could do nothing about any of the goals. 1st 1 made a good smother save but rebound 2nd counter attack across box tap in 3rd and 4th counter attack but good finishes. Question marks if anything are on the left side first half skapoulas then he was subbed off for agelatos who was terrible and cost both the last 2 goals.

We also hit the bar in the first 10 minutes.
The biggest problem if anything was messarouni finishing. He actually got into some great positions but fucked up every shot which was really disappointing. Normally one of his only quality's is he is a good finisher so was very disappointing. On the other hand though Singh should not be getting any game time, he's lazy slow and just awful. Pope should have started and messa should have been up front messa if anything should only play striker not midfield.

Its not about him specifically tonight. Its Javis ability to make big time saves that he could never dream of. As good as we were last Friday night we cop 2 goals to st albans if trenkov or charlston play instead of Javi.

The overall problem is none of our backup players are of the caliber required to be match winners for us.

This is what annoys me the most. Just a couple of senior players would suffice and we would have knocked out Bulleen. We literally gave up before kicking a ball. That’s what is the most frustrating thing.

What makes it worse is that exactly 7 nights ago we used senior players in Fiji in a game that meant nothing to score 8 goals with a game 3 nights later.

Tonight for a knockout match none of them are anywhere to be seen. Could have easily played a few of them for a half and then rung the changes in the 2nd half. Nothing overly taxing, but nope lets play a B team against an in form Bulleen.
