Could argue putting Oakleigh in the tier of Preston and South. Oakleigh should have done the double over Preston in all honesty. Don’t play the prettiest football but get results. Still, I share your opinion that South and Preston are the two best sides in the league.

Don’t see it with Hume despite what the table says. Think losing Calvar has really hurt them. Avondale haven’t beaten a side with a pulse all season.
Preston beat Oakleigh 3-1 in R1 :)

What like Sinisa ?? he had none either but seems to have done rather well
Or Leigh Minops and Tyson Homes, or Esteban before them or Tangalakis, and on and on and on... I would take Fausto after he has been coaching for a decade and just had back to back promotions with a club with financial limitations anyday.

I watch lots of NPL and VPL football there are some very good coaches arguably ready to step up to NPL level that also goes for players in the VPL too you can always see a well coached team whatever level they are at
Crisdion at Bulleen, Fausto ex Malvern, Popovic at Srbija, Barberi Juventus, Max Clarke Northcote all would be good coaches in the NPL Im sure even at the biggest of clubs.
Im not quite sure why South would actually want to get rid of Sinisa though - thats actually mind boggling

I dont think any of the fans do, Sinisa is a saviour, gave us our pretty football back, saved us from relegation, won us some silverware for the first time in a while and more importantly approaches his craft with dignity and respect for the club and the fans.

As to why the board may or may not be trying to freeze him out, I dont want to speculate, it is all so breathtakingly embarrassing.

The scenarios arent the same, the club was in a relegation battle last season with a thin squad that nobody wanted to go near, you had to settle for someone unproven.

Now its one of the best teams outside the top flight going for someone unproven is silly.

He just seems like a top bloke, very dedicated and obviously a very good coach given what he has had to deal with and the way the team has responded shows that

The squad that "nobody wanted to go near" had the bones of 3 grand finals in a row... I agree that noboday wanted to coach us but I dont think it was a squad problem.

Would YOU be willing to go and work for a company that sacks you one day (very publicaly)and then hires you back 3 days later? Many wouldn't.

Fausto was playing 20 years ago mate, been coaching for about 10 I think.
Maybe he was still kicking about in some capacity as a player, but I know for a fact he was involved in the coaching set up at Doncaster in either the late 00s or early 10s. Can’t remember which year it was exactly off the top of my head. Maybe not 20 years ago, but atleast 15. I knew people at the club at the time

Lets not forget we are not a Malvern, let alone a bergers, if ur the best u attract the best!

I fully agree with @southmelb if we are to lose Sini it has to be fpr a JA or better. Even a Dilles isnt good enough imo.
If you think JA is a better coach than someone like Sinisa who didnt have ANY NPL senior experience prior to last year than I guess we are watching different sports.

THats not what i said mono..
Ill take Sinisa even without a title this year!

Id take JA over a coach like Fausto or Dilles! JA is atleadt tried and tested and can produce results.... of its only all about getting the results!

JA can "get the results" with a hand picked squad and 6 weeks of 7 day a week training... could he have done it with our demands this year... I doubt it...
