Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

We have nothing up front and that was a fair way to conceed from keeper. In a bit of trouble we dont look like it aside from the long throw.

I’m half watching the game and it seemed very scrappy but also played at a much higher intensity than the Bula-Vanuatu game

100%
Coveny didnt fill me with confidence thats for sure... Cocks way too much overkill wiyh the same repetitive move.. as for the 2 up front, god help us from 1st impressions.

In terms of the known crop, Giannokopoulos was a disaster, turnover machine. We need to bring in quality fast if we want to be competitive in 2 comps.

Yep... i get feeling we walked into this thinking more of a walkthrough and hace come away first round a bit surprised I think...Marshall and the front 2 are a big miss for us. Side not at level of championship..

What a way to win it but we were poor at times.

Too many players were very average. Some of the new recruits were just poor like Swibel and Singh were bang average. Where was Bonada ??

Couldn’t believe how bad he was ! Probably his worst match in a South shirt! Some of the turnovers were just horrible.

We have not adequately replaced the departed Aguek and Lavale. Cocks needs to be more effective.

We looked very rusty and nervous at times. Hopefully Sinisa can work on things at the training ground to change things around.

Thought for his debut he was adequate without being great. Young defender and will grow in confidence.

The young goalkeeper was poor at times. His head dropped at times and needs to be more consistent and confident.

I'd rate Tahiti around state league 1 level, which says a lot about how we looked. Bring in Eliopoulos and push TG further up. The forward options are a worry, if we can escape this hub with 6-7 points i'd take it.
This is one of the easiest hubs for us given we faced Tahiti United, and have Solomon Kings and PNG Hekari next. We desperately require 9 points from this hub.

It’s the third hub that is the toughest which is where we face the two New Zealand teams.

Not just that, but we also need to get as many points as possible before the NPL Victoria competition commences. Then we’ll have to start shifting priorities between both competitions.

Hence, we can’t walk away with just 6 points, but we need all 9 points.
