📝 Notes​

  • Arne Slot plans to use two different squads to cover the Athletic Club double-header.
  • These matches will be a good opportunity to review the many changes made over the past month.
  • Key focus will be on building cohesion across the squad heading into the new season.

losing at pens sucks but how the game goes and tbh Palace deserved the win they really had us under pressure 2nd half created more chances.
We sure look different and expected with so many changes.
Felt MO wasn’t in the game enough due to our difference of play.
Mind you the difference was the kind of pace we now have and the added skillset by the newbies was impressive viewing.
Frimpong - great defending and attack bonus a surprising goal on debut !
Kerkez - was so different not seeing Robbo but wow like what I see - the pace.
Wirtz - what a player ! This guy is hot ! first assist already.
Ekitike - as above - the touch, the body use, the debut goal like whoah I thought wow this guy has glimpses modern day young Henry !
Once the squad settles lots to get familiar with this has mucho promise !

I feel a little jealous that Liverpool always tend to get kits that look good. When I saw these, straight away reminded me of the kits of the past. They have history and are Liverpool unique.

United have just been getting template shit of late because anything will make money, and that's all the focus is.

zim, yes and no we've had some ordinary ones now and then last 10yrs BUT yer, going back to Adidas (great deal might I add) we are back to the ol 3 stripe style that always looked damn great !
The 3rd light green/aqua kit is brilliant, I'm trying to source one as well getting the usual red.

Yeah, when you had Warrior, New Balance it was weird. The kits didn't sit right. I also don't like how we get random colours for teams. Like when Liverpool had Purple and we had the lime green.

Well first game @ home been played and won Thankfully.
Post Diogo as much as it pains us now must move on.
I think every game will have some kind of Jota touch which is damn nice.

Alisson's post game comments ring true and you saw it live, you can tell we have a long way to go but the talent sure is there for all to see.

I am Impressed with Ekitiki - he's a damn fine young player, for someone of slim build I thought EPL will be a challenge for him but damn, he's shows great body strength, luv his movement nd skilset, he is going to a damn good player for us imo.
Writz, well its pretty obvious he's a pretty complete player, he may overdo things at times I suspect but wow going forward he's got it.
Frimpong, well hard to not picture TAA there anymore so he's got a huge task to deal with, he's fast, covers defense by the looks of it, moving forward ok, his pace will help alot.
Kerkez, a work in progress to me, just 21yrs a pup, I'm sure he felt the pressure and against his ol club.
He's a workhorse - just needs to learn his position - when to go when to stay for he left too much space the 1st half, they targeted him - a good lesson and for Slot's viewing.
I'd like he start up Robbo for a little while.
Macca was lacking match fitness.
Grav is missed around DM duties back next week.
Szobo was his usual dynamo self, actually sensational.
Gapko had a stellar game.
Really glad MO found his mojo, he has been quiet through pre season I suppose its all a build up, all good tyhings take time, this new squad once they know themselves I think will be dynamite.

Konate had one of his bad games - but it highlighted our of more backup, really hope we get Guehi.
I'm still on the fence re Isak that I think will go ahead - I suppose with the maount of fixtures we have its good considering we lost Dias/Jota.

Toon away next week, now thats going to be a thriller no doubt !

By the way kudos Diaz - already delivered and help Kane gain another Cup, congrats Luis on the winning goal and trophy.

I can't deny the 84 treble winning Crown Paints kit was/is iconic !
Luv it - the pin stripes it is my fav especially through those great seasons.

I liked Carlsberg but no, its not in the top 3 even for me and imo the white Carlsberg kit looked better than on Red.

As that song goes, I like CANDY ! now is that a curve ball for you Mono :)
