NPL 2026

Primarily, loss of the coach and the cohesion that came with it for so long, the Germano attempt was a miserable failure, as was the waste of money that was fornaroli... they still have some quality talent but it seems they losing more and more of it everyday and getting more in is not going to be easy even if you have deep pockets!
Right, so the inevitable implosion behind the scenes hasn’t come just yet

Why do the Victorians dislike Avondale so much? Isn't it good to have another big club/ more competition?

They're a bit of an arrogant club. They have money but you wouldnt call them big. Personally im just indifferent to them, as they have no supporters i actually like it when they beat our rivals but they usually choke so i dislike them for that lol.

When the NPL came in you needed certain criteria met for staidium, grounds. Avondale didnt meet them.

They initially played at knights stadium then altona. The regio is still not up to par with their bunnings marquee grandstand.

Add to that they act like its their divine right to win the league every season even though theyve only ever won it once.

The covid title they lost and the ridiculous decision that 2022 games would count to the suspended 2021 season just because they threw their toys out of the pram leading to a mid season npl match potentially deciding the 2021 title.

I just dont like the ethos Markovski had instilled in them all these years. The arrogance stemmed from that, cynical fouls, aggressive play, coaches and players constantly pushing for opposition players to be carded or sent off and playing to cause offence. They have a chip on their shoulder as both a club and a playing group. The closest thing to a middle eastern team we have in NPL VIC.

They have the financial backing to become a big club, and there are certainly many inner west event goers who could be attracted by a money bags "Italian club", they should perhaps learn to get a few more runs on the board before thinking they are above their station.

The whole Fornaroli thing was hilarious... I reckon for every one extra fan that brought to the ground they would have spent $10,000 in salary and advertising on the back of trams....

Preston have already signed Tavere aswell and more to come over from Avondale. It’ll be interesting what happens with the Avondale coach. He’s clearly not up to it yet but probably played a big role in getting Bruno Fornaroli over the line
Ta Vere deal fell through funniest reason on why

There was a post on twitter on him joining Preston and him, Avondale and his own family had the biggest sook about it being leaked but at the same time he should’ve closed his mouth so he got dirty at the club and doesn’t want to join anymore

What a stupid reason to not move. Maybe he thought Avondale would drop him for the championship like Heidelberg did with Jamal Ali? Very strange.

Rate him very highly though as a player.
