NPL 2026

Canterbury Bankstown Berries were Canterbury Marrickville who were originally Canterbury Marrickville Olympic.

Not a big club ( and never were ) but a Greek club ( ish ) originally.
They’ve been in the old state league/npl for decent periods at a time, and I feel like they might be one of those clubs who played 1 random year of nsl or something I can’t remember off the top of my head. they’re probably the second biggest historically

Just looked it up, they did play nsl, 1 season in 1986

APIA hands down is the biggest spenders.

Followed by Marconi & Rockdale.
Yer I was gonna add Rockdale.
Sutho yer picking it up some now.
What about Wolves bringing up the rear thinking ahead ?
They spend on coach’s like Wilkshire I’m sure not cheap compared to others.
Manly always show potential here and there but if they got serious could punch a lot more above their weight.
Mounties as mentioned got dough but you don’t see it on the team.

Mounties only cares about rugby league and cricket.

why I said you don't see it in the football team.
Plus all about their facilities and pokey revenue - afterall it is nrl heratland.

Apparently some local bought into Sutherland Sharks after he sold his IT company for $300mill.

Now he is playing football manager with Sutho lol.

They have a lot of good people running it - on and off the field. I remember when I was there during the 2025 season and it was packed with people. Great atmosphere for NPL.

Tell me thats not one of first things any one of us would do if $300mil landed in our laps?....
well depends - I might feel bit poorer after having to pay 47% tax - I mean $150M ish doesn't sound as good nor go as far LOL........
Might open a Italian restaurant - employ Glenardo as head chef, invite you greeks and that 1 portugese fella and fill him up with a balanced portion of carbs washed down with a nice bottle chianti hahaha
