There’s Gladesville magic, Canterbury-Bankstown, then maybe liverpool Olympic. But Olympic easily the flagship. Traditionally Canterbury was probably the second biggest

They’re in the npl 2-3, Liverpool Olympic is more lower leagues. You also have Hamilton Olympic in Newcastle if you want to include that

Yeah Ive heard of both Canterbery and Gladesville, just suprised there werent more strong clubs . I mean just in NPL, VPL1 and VPL2 alone there are currently 12 Greek clubs

Yea but there’s too many in Melb. All the nationalities have too many little clubs there imo, draws resources away from the flagship clubs

Yes and no.... Some of these clubs have decades of history and are vital nurseries of players (and fans) for "flagship" clubs...

Yea not sure the exact reason, would be speculating. Even with Italian clubs, the Italian community of Sydney is roughly comparable in size to the Greek community of Melb and there’s really just Marconi, APIA, then daylight, then inter in npl 2, then daylight.

A lot of Pressure if they start on -9 though. They shouldnt get relegated or anything but thats serious ground to make up for a title charge, imagine they drop the first 2 games or something.

As for Avondale its interesting that they continue to play Tevere despite the move to Preston. Jamal Ali has also gone to Preston and Heidelberg are refusing to play him in the championship.

Not only the league itself but many clubs have new head coaches (Knights, Northcote, Bulleen, Juventus, Manningham) add Victory and WU plus Port Melbourne, Langy, Srbija Brunswick and Sunshine plus Eltham and N. Geelong then try and pick 3 to go up should be some big games all the way through the season
